Teri Giustina M.S. '86 and George Glass '82 have been named co-chairs for the Alumni Center Campaign. Both are past presidents of the UOAA Board of Directors, and Glass is currently serving on the University of Oregon Foundation Board of Trustees. They will lead the campaign committee in providing the strategic and ambassadorial leadership for the fundraising effort.
In June, Cheryl Ramberg Ford '66 and her husband, Allyn, president of Roseburg Forest Products, made a $5 million lead gift for the new center. The gift launched the campaign to raise a total of $20 million in private donations to fund the project, which is part of Campaign Oregon: Transforming Lives. Ramberg Ford will serve as honorary chair for the campaigjn, with the full committee to be announced later this month.
The new center, which has not yet been designed, will contain an assembly hall/ballroom with catering facilities, conference and meeting room space, display areas to recognize university history and alumni accomplishments, and offices for the Alumni Association, University of Oregon Foundation and the university's Office of Development.
The proposed site, along Franklin Boulevard between 13th and Agate Streets, will also provide the University of Oregon with a campus gatewaythe front door that the university has sought to define.
