Welcome to Homecoming and Family Weekend 2007!

Dan & DuckDear UO Alumni,

Each year we have the opportunity to connect with thousands of alumni, each in different ways. Through events in different geographic areas, through UO Alumni Association Board of Directors meetings, via uoalumni.com, through legislative outreach in support of higher education, and when alumni return to campus.

We are very excited this year about Homecoming and Family Weekend 2007. The UOAA has partnered with many departments and schools on campus, including the Office of Student Life and the new student membership organization The Flight, to offer a variety of events to our students and alumni. There are tours of the new Lorry I. Lokey Laboratories, the 20th Anniversary of the Museum of Natural and Cultural History, the Mills International Center Grand Opening, the return of the Pep Rally, the official UO Pre-func Tailgate Party prior to the Oregon vs. WSU football game and much, much more!

One of the most exciting events for the Alumni Association that will be happening on Friday, October 12, is an event to officially kick-off the public campaign for an Alumni Center. This will be a place for you to come home to when you return to campus. The UO Alumni Center will underscore the quality and importance of the institution, while serving as the cornerstone to establishing and maintaining connections.

This is an important time to be connected to your university. We are nearing the end of a capital campaign that will support scholarships, new courses and institutes, and research. It will also provide for more endowed faculty positions and funds to build new facilities.

I hope that you will take a few minutes to check out uoalumni.com and this eNewsletter to see all of the great things we have planned for Homecoming and Family Weekend 2007 and if you can, come to campus during the week! Student events begin Monday, October 8 and Friday will kick-off a weekend of great events for alumni!

If you can’t be here, please stay updated at uoalumni.com and check out all the happenings of the week – we will have special coverage to keep you connected to our Homecoming events! Also, check out a watch party near you and watch the game with fellow Duck Alumni!

GO DUCKS!
