Alumni Center Update

Alumni Center

We're halfway home! The $25 million campaign to build the Cheryl Ramberg Ford and Allyn Ford Alumni Center has reached its halfway point and is going strong. But it's going to take all of us to build a new place to call home. There are lots of ways to get involved so don't hesitate in joining your fellow Ducks in building our Alumni Center.

Last fall we announced Opsis Architecture as the project design firm. Opsis' principal designers, Alec Holser ’81, James Kalvelage ’81 and James Meyer ’81 are all alumni of the University of Oregon School of Architecture. Their team is working closely with the UO Alumni Center User Group in creating a place "where Ducks connect" to welcome alumni, students, faculty and friends. The schematic design phase is well underway and building plans plus a donor honor roll will be featured in the May issue of this e-newsletter.

Architects from the three gateway projects—the Alumni Center, Arena and Academic Learning Center—are coordinating efforts to make the new entrance for the University of Oregon nothing short of spectacular. Few universities in the country have a site like this for an Alumni or Visitors Center, and the UO will stay true to its reputation for excellence, innovation, and inspiration in building something special.
