This year's 50th Reunion brought over 180 alumni and their families back to campus to reconnect with their fellow classmates, share stories and check out what's happening on campus. Class members came from as far away as Austria and France to celebrate their golden anniversary.

UO Kicks off New Class Ring Program

Official UO Class Ring Loyalty, pride and a “Go Ducks” spirit.  These words describe UO graduates of any generation.  Now there is a new way for Ducks to display their ties to the University of Oregon.  On April 7, the University unveiled the Official University of Oregon Class Ring.

Previously, anyone, even people who had never attended the university, could design and order a ring from the campus bookstore.  Now, students must have completed 90 credit hours (junior status) to be able to order a ring.

“Play Ball!”  The traditional cry of the umpire at the beginning of the game brought back many memories for over 75 returning Softball Team alumni and their families during the UO Softball Team Reunion, which was held April 4-6, 2008.

Northern California Wine Tour

Ducks on the Beach

On Sunday, April 6th, 55 alumni from the Northern California area met at the Ferry Building in San Francisco, CA, to board a shuttle bus en route to Napa Valley. The trip featured a personal tour guide taking alumni and friends through the history of beautiful wine country. The shuttle bus provided the perfect opportunity for alumni to mingle with one another and share their UO stories.

Frohnmayer to Retire as President

President FrohnmayerUniversity of Oregon President Dave Frohnmayer announced his intention to retire at the end of the 2008-09 academic year in a letter submitted to Oregon University System Chancellor George Pernsteiner and Oregon Gov. Ted Kulongoski.
