Students Join Forces to Raise Money
for Cancer Research |
Hundreds of students from across campus came together to donate their time, money and efforts to support University of Oregon’s first Relay For Life and All Greek Philanthropy. In total, they raised an estimated $10,000 to support the American Cancer Society.

Paul Olum Award Winner

Jaclyn Toh, a senior majoring in geography, is the 2008 recipient of the prestigious Paul Olum Award.
Olum was the 13th president of University of Oregon from 1980 to 1989. The UO Alumni Association awards this trophy annually to honor a graduating student who best exemplifies Olum’s commitment to intellectual growth, integrity and the university’s well-being.

UOAA Distinguished Alumnus Recipient

Dan G. Wieden, this year’s well-deserving Distinguished Alumnus recipient, is every journalism and business student’s favorite success story. Wieden graduated in 1967 with a degree in journalism from the UO and is the co-founder, creative director and president of the internationally renowned Wieden & Kennedy advertising agency. As the story goes, Wieden began with just a typewriter and vision as he worked with his first client, Nike, to help create their brand image. » Learn more |
UOAA Outstanding Young Alumnus

Jeffrey D. Whitty, a playwright, actor and UO alumnus, helped take the 2004 Tony Awards Ceremony by storm. Whitty won the 2004 Tony Award for Best Book of a Musical for “Avenue Q” less than one year after graduating from the UO. “Avenue Q” won several other awards, including Best Musical, after its Broadway debut on July 31, 2003. “Avenue Q” is touring cities nationwide until summer's end. » Learn more |

Football season cannot arrive fast enough for Duck fans. The first glimpse will come in the friendly confines of Autzen Stadium when the Ducks face northwest rival Washington on August 30th. The first road test, however, comes two weeks later in a more hostile environment on Saturday, September 13 at Purdue University.
