Football season cannot arrive fast enough for Duck fans. The first glimpse will come in the friendly confines of Autzen Stadium when the Ducks face northwest rival Washington on August 30th. The first road test, however, comes two weeks later in a more hostile environment on Saturday, September 13 at Purdue University.
“There is already great excitement surrounding the Purdue/Oregon game. After what the Ducks did to the Michigan Wolverines last year there is a feeling that the Boilermakers need to deliver a win for the Big Ten. Fans will come in from all over the country and the whole community will be energized for this game. The campus will be like a bee hive and the center of attention will be Ross Ade Stadium,” said Chad Johnson, from the Purdue University Alumni Association.
Oregon Senior running back Jeremiah Johnson summed it up for Duck fans, “You've got to be there to see Purdue get dominated.”
How to get there should not be a problem for anyone…
The University of Oregon Alumni Association, in conjunction with Premiere College Sports (together with Dodds Athletic Tours), have put together a package that ensures you won’t miss any of the action. With direct flights from both Portland and Eugene to Indianapolis, it will not get any easier to arrive in style.
Couple the easy transportation with a first class Duck reception at the NCAA Hall of Champions and entrance to the Official UO Pre-game Party, and you’ve got the making of a great Oregon football weekend.
