UO Gospel Choir Wows Concert Goers at Beall Hall
Andiel BrownThe motivations for students joining the UO Gospel Choir vary. Some participate each term to celebrate God and others join because they simply love to sing.  Leading the energy of such a diverse group is Andiel Brown ’08, a grad from the school of music who sits at the center of a choir that has steadily been building a reputation for 18 years.

Michael Fancher ’68 to Write Journalist's Creed for the 21st Century
Mike FrancherIf anyone deserves a long, relaxing retirement, it's Mike Fancher ’68. Fancher worked for 40 years as a journalist and spent 20 years as the Executive Editor of The Seattle Times. Although Fancher technically retired in 2006, speaking with him, it is clear he is anything but retired. Fancher recently had the honor of being chosen to be 2008-09 Fellow at University of Missouri's Reynolds Journalism Institute and will spend the next year updating the Journalist's Creed , widely known as the code of ethics for the profession.

EnewsTotal Ballots Submitted: 7,535. Everyone who registered to donate anywhere in the state of Oregon during this campaign was given a “ballot” to “vote” for the Ducks or Beavers.

Bandon LighthouseUO Staff member, David N. Jones uses black and white photography to convey the mood and soul of the environments he photographs. His images are, for the most part, of the grand view – a stunning variety of landscapes from Oregon and the West. Jones uses dramatic light to evoke the emotions, feelings, and sensations experienced at the moment of exposure. Now showing at the UO Museum of National and Cultural History November 7, 2008 through March 1, 2009.

Robbie Mulkey ’56 Inducted into the National Softball Hall of Fame
Softball Roberta “Robbie” Mulkey ’56, a UO graduate and Portland softball star, was inducted in to the National Softball Hall of Fame on November 12 in Oklahoma City. Mulkey, an 82 year-old resident of Vancouver, Washington, was the only woman among the 11 others inducted.
