For more than thirty years, the University of Oregon Alumni Association has honored outstanding alumni who have attained extraordinary distinction in their chosen professional fields or by personal endeavor.
If you know of an outstanding alumnus who qualifies, please download and submit the nomination form for the Distinguished Alumnus or Young Alumnus (under 46). Please assist us by providing information about the nominee’s professional achievements, community activities, honors and awards, and UO affiliations and service.

Alumni Association Awards

This award, which began in 1967, is presented by the UO Alumni Association. It is bestowed on alumni of the university who have served the nation, state, or the university, or who have distinguished themselves by personal endeavor. The award reads: In recognition of extraordinary achievements, community activities, honors or awards and UO affiliations and service. Nominations for the award are solicited by the UOAA, and the annual recipient is selected by a committee of the UO Alumni Association. The award is generally presented in June. (In 1995, the Distinguished Alumnus Award became an annual award.)
The Outstanding Young Alumni Award was created in 1984 to recognize the achievement of a young alumnus/alumnae who has achieved significant accomplishments prior to their 46th birthday. The award reads: In recognition of outstanding professional achievement and personal dedication to their community. Nominations are solicited by the UOAA, and the annual recipient is selected by a committee comprised of university staff, members of the community and the UOAA. (There were no awards presented in 1992 and 1994.)
