Museum visitors will be able to have a hands-on, feet-in, multimedia experience that explores many aspects of footwear and their history. Shoes are not just protection for our feet; they flaunt an infinite array of styles, sizes and materials. This exhibit takes a look at traditional footwear from around the world, styles from decades past, and the shoes of famous people. From 10,000-year-old sagebrush bark sandals to stilettos to a rock star's boots -- shoes always make a statement. (Free admission.)
Kids get into the act -- creating artwork that tells the story of their own shoes. This companion exhibit features contour line drawings and writing about shoes that are significant to the students. The artwork of twenty-eight students from two 4th grade classes at Clear Lake Elementary School will be on display. (Free admission.)
