K-16 Chinese Language Program
Begins in Portland
As the result of the culmination of more than a decade of work on foreign language instruction, the University of Oregon’s Center for Applied Second Language Studies (CASLS) will develop the nation's first Chinese language program that begins in kindergarten and continues through the college years.

Introducing: Seth Walker,
Program Coordinator, George S. Turnbull Portland Center
When the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication opened its Portland Center this fall, they knew that for the new George S. Turnbull Portland Center to succeed they would need a program coordinator that believed in the missions and goals of the university and the presence the school would have in Portland. The selection process led to the hiring of Seth Walker, an alumnus of the school.
