Holiday Music Fest Attracts Alumni and Friends to the Pearl

Dave Frohnmayer and chorusOn Friday, December 9, more than 150 University of Oregon alumni, friends, faculty and staff gathered for the annual Holiday Music Fest in downtown Portland. The event, which has been toasting in the holiday season for nearly 20 years, was held at Sherman Clay/Moe’s Piano’s on NW Thirteenth in the Pearl District.

The showroom was transformed into a reception and concert hall area, allowing space for attendees to gather, mingle, eat and drink while UO faculty and students performed and a silent auction was held. Performances included a Faculty/Student jazz Combo, solos by pianist Karen Lam ’99 and UO School of Music and Dance student vocalists who led the audience in singing holiday carols.

UO President Dave Frohnmayer and his wife Lynn, UOAA Executive Director Dan Rodriguez, School of Music and Dance Dean Brad Foley, and UO Portland staff including Program Coordinator for the School of Journalism, Seth Walker ’95, M.S. ’05, Director of Corporate Relations Jennifer Flores, and Directors of Development Candace Horter and Robert d’Entremont enjoyed the festivities of the evening and the showcase performances of the School of Music and Dance.
