Are you starting a new business? Do you want to help your small business clients succeed?

The UO law school's 2006 Business Innovation and Law conference focuses on small and start-up businesses and brings together business leaders and owners, attorneys, and law professors in common pursuit of improving Oregon's business climate.

The all-day event, "Representing Oregon Small Business," takes place on Friday, Nov. 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the World Trade Center, 121 SW Salmon St., Portland. Cost is $155 ($125 for UO Law Alumni Association members).

Panel topics include choice of ownership entity and capitalization alternatives, arbitration of employment disputes, drafting and enforcing covenants not to compete, intellectual property issues, and special issues that arise in a family-owned business. 

The conference is sponsored by the University of Oregon School of Law and Oregon Community Credit Union.
