Zanne Miller, M.S. ‘97, thinks of her bequest to the UO as a tangible connection to the future and as a lesson to her young daughters.
“The UO has played a major role in our lives,” she says. “I want the girls to know that we’re part of something bigger than just ourselves – and that giving back to our communities is important.”
Currently, UO officials know of about 1,000 friends and alumni who have the university in their plans. By including the UO in your estate plan, you can help provide for future generations on campus. Gifts through a will, living trust, IRA, life insurance and planned gifts are all considered “estate plan” gifts.
If you decide to include the UO in your estate plan, it is important that your gift be designated to the University of Oregon Foundation, rather than the university itself. You may contact the Office of Gift Planning for sample language to direct your gift to the area on campus that you want to support.
And please let the university know when you have made the important decision to include the UO in your estate plan. Contact the Office of Gift Planning at 541-346-1687 or 800-289-2354 or email at giftplan@uoregon.edu.
