You're invited to join fellow Ducks for one of the great masterworks of music, at a special alumni price: The B minor Mass of J.S. Bach, performed by the Oregon Bach Festival (OBF) , the University of Oregon's Grammy-winning music festival, Friday, June 27 at Arlene Schnizter Concert Hall.
The June 27 concert is the OBF's first in Portland since 1981. Since then, the OBF has become one of the world's most noticed celebrations of Bach's music and influence, with critical raves from the Los Angeles Times, NPR, Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Post.
Near the end of his life, Bach refined and assembled 25 years of his most important musical ideas into the Mass, his final great statement. A summation of his mastery and a testament to his devout faith, the Mass has become a pillar of Western culture. With its brilliant orchestra writing and stirring choral passages, it has been a signature work of the OBF, with Rilling conducting fifteen performances over the course of his 38 seasons in Eugene.
Alumni ticket prices are $26 - $49. Order online through TicketMaster and use the jsb10 promotional code.
