Each year, Duck fans gather near and far to cheer on the high-profiled football team through preseason, conference and postseason games. Home games draw thousands of people to Autzen Stadium, where “loud” is simply an understatement and passion is filled throughout players, coaches and fans. But away games take the team from the comfort of Autzen and deep into enemy territory in need of some green and yellow support. Insert the Duck Alumni Tailgate.
With Ducks across the country, many flock to opposing stadiums in full force to watch Oregon take on the next foe. Some travel great distances to away games while some are lucky enough to be near their own home turf. To bring together all these Ducks, the UO Alumni Association hosts the premiere pregame party at away games.
Last year, thousands “Stormed LA” against USC, were ready to take down the Cal Bears, filled CenturyLink Field against Washington State and travelled to the Fiesta Bowl, each time coming back with a win. And the Duck Alumni Tailgate was there each step of the way, gathering Ducks, cheerleaders, and former football players.
This year, the Duck Alumni Tailgate will travel to Virginia, Washington and Stanford. With entertainment such as the cheerleaders and the Duck, food, drinks and other UOAA members, away games won’t seem far from Autzen. With premium and general admission options, the Duck Alumni Tailgate is a member-only benefit, with members able to bring up to two guests. Premium admission includes entry into the tailgate, exclusive and guaranteed covered seating with prime viewing for live entertainment programs and a full catered meal. General admission includes entry into the tailgate, a cash bar, and access to the live entertainment including UO cheerleaders and the Duck.
So if you are traveling to Charlottesville, Seattle, or Palo Alto be sure to join the Duck Alumni Tailgate and get pumped up as Coach Mark Helfrich and the rest of the Ducks strive for a BCS title.
