Three years ago, I left employment in the private sector and leaped into the world of higher education. It provided an enriching opportunity for me to serve my alma mater, to help energize our alumni association, and to reengage many of our alums.

University of Oregon School of Music and Dance professor Brian McWhorter conducts the Brass and Percussion Ensemble during the IAAF World Junior Championships 10,000-meter race. McWhorter composed the music specifically for the July 22 event, and it is believed to be the first time music composed for an IAAF event has been performed live during the event.
