Alumni returning to Eugene this fall for football games, reunions, or just to catch up with old friends will now have a new way to get here as well as a full calendar of events awaiting them on Friday nights.
Starting on August 29, the night before the Ducks face South Dakota at Autzen Stadium, Eugene Cascades Coast will be hosting the first of six “Duck Downtown” events, where downtown Eugene and Springfield will be turned into giant Ducked-out block parties.
At “Duck Downtown,” local area businesses will be offering special deals and discounts to Duck fans. Select stores will be offering reduced prices on food and drinks, discounts on certain items, or free gear and prizes for people displaying their Duck spirit.
Duck fans who live north of Eugene along the I-5 corridor can now return to the UO in style on Amtrak, with special fares on the Amtrak Cascades route offered for fans traveling to Eugene on the Friday or Saturday of a game weekend and leaving the day after the Ducks play. While in Eugene, your Amtrak Cascades boarding pass also entitles you to ride any Lane Transit District (LTD) bus for free. Additionally, a “Duck Downtown” Friday, all LTD bus and EmX routes are free for all riders after 5:00 p.m.
