Incoming students from Lane County throw the O at the Oregon Migration in Eugene.
Tapping into the Power of the Duck Alumni Network
A Message from Executive Director Paul J. Clifford
I’ve had the chance to visit with many of our newest Ducks—the Class of 2019—and their parents at our Oregon Migration events. These events are hosted all around the world: Singapore to Washington, DC, Seattle to San Diego, and 24 points in between. This is an impressive group of students, full of ambition and eager to become members of the Duck family.
As I travel to these events and meet incoming students and parents, I share with them that they will leave Oregon after four years of amazing experiences with a nationally respected degree, lifelong friendships, and the support of a powerful Duck alumni network. I encourage them to “Tap into the power of the Duck Alumni Network” every chance they get to secure internships, informational interviews, social and professional networking, and ultimately career opportunities. They will come to learn the Ducks are loyal and always eager to help fellow alumni.
How has being a graduate of the University of Oregon, and having access to the powerful network of Duck alumni, helped you throughout your career? Join this conversation and connect with fellow Ducks in the University of Oregon LinkedIn group; these stories are inspiring and I often share them with fellow alumni and current students.
I love this time of year! Our academic year is on the horizon and we will welcome the Class of 2019 to the Duck family. Football season with all of its pageantry and spirit will kick off this week, bringing thousands of alumni back home to Eugene. Whether you visit Eugene, or our paths cross at one of our regional events this fall, I hope we can connect and that you will share your story of how the Duck alumni network has helped you.
Until then, Go Ducks!
