University Lobby Day at the Capitol

Thursday, February 13, 2020 • 9:00 a.m.– 4:00 p.m.

Join us for 2020 University Lobby Day in Salem! 250 students, alumni, faculty administrators and mascots from all seven Oregon public universities will descend on the Capitol to share why it's important to fund higher education and make college accessible and affordable for Oregon's students.

Here’s what we’re fighting for:
  • Improving food and housing security in Oregon’s colleges campuses
  • Renovating Huestis Hall, the hub for life sciences research and instruction at the UO
  • Smoothing pathways for students transferring from community college to a four-year university
Additionally, there will be activities throughout the day, including photo ops with mascots, viewing of House and Senate Chamber performances, and trivia with prizes.

Location:

Oregon State Capitol
900 Court Street NE
Salem OR 97301

Registration:

This event is free, please register online.

Transportation from Eugene campus to the Capitol and back is provided for those who need it; approx. Eugene departure time is 7:30 a.m. and return is 5:30 p.m.

Students: You are some of our most influential advocates, and legislators want to visit with you! While we can't provide you with an official excuse from classes, here's a letter from university administrators you can share with professors explaining the benefits this experience provides you as well as the University of Oregon.
