UO History 101: University of Oregon Alumni Association
Two years after the University of Oregon was founded in 1876, the first class graduated from the university. These five alumni established the University of Oregon Alumni Association (UOAA) in 1879.
With the goal of keeping alumni involved with the university, the small group formed. Members gathered for social and professional events, similar to how the UOAA operates today.
Since 1879, the Alumni Association has grown, currently counting over 23,000 alumni, faculty/staff, and students as members.

Hosting events such as tailgates, local chapter watch parties, career workshops, and affinity group reunions, the UOAA has helped students and alumni stay connected and involved with the community.

The UOAA is led by a board of directors that manages finances and determines how to best support and engage with UO Alumni. There are currently 37 directors on the board, and they meet in-person three times a year.
