Otis Davis BS '60 (pictured here with UO President Michael Schill) was the first person in history to break the 45-second mark in the 400 meters, doing so in a gold medal-winning performance at the 1960 Olympic Games. Davis, along with Colonel Marcelyn Atwood, USAF (ret.), BM '78, former presidential campaign spokesperson Tucker Bounds BA '02, lawyer Dr. Sara Terheggen BS '99, and former UOAA president Fred Poust BA '82, was honored November 6 at the Alumni Awards Celebration.
