University of Oregon alumni have at least a dozen reasons to celebrate – that’s how many Ducks are being honored in Portland Business Journal’s 2019 Forty Under 40 class.
Out of hundreds of nominations each year, the PBJ selects 40 influential professionals who are younger than 40-years-old and recognizes their accomplishments at a celebration luncheon.
One of these honorees, Ian Kelley, an alumnus of UO’s Lundquist College of Business, said it’s impressive but not surprising that 30 percent of the winners are UO graduates.
“It’s a great honor,” Kelley said. “I know quite a few of them and they’re wonderful people, smart driven professionals, and it means a lot to me to be included in the group.”
Kelley is the vice president of data breach solutions at ID Experts. He said earning an MBA at the UO helped provide him with a well-rounded knowledge of how a business works, from finance and accounting to operations, public speaking and marketing.
Other Lundquist College of Business alumni on the Forty Under 40 list include Chris Campagna, CEO of True Terpenes; Kyle M. Kobelin, director of strategic finance at Lattice Semiconductor; and Stanley Walker, president of Oregon Metal Services.
Honored alumni from the Oregon Executive MBA in Portland are Jonathan Blasher, the parks and nature director at Metro; Patrick Ginn, owner of Ginn Group; Caleb A. Stelle, director of operations for AWS Elemental; and Benjamin Pappas, the president of Bates Group.
Fellow honorees and UO alumni include Nadia Dahab, attorney at Stoll Berne of UO School of Law; Maulin Patel, vice president of finance and treasurer of Oregon Health and Science University who earned his bachelor’s in finance and economics; Reegan Rae, managing director of wealth management and senior investment advisor of Arnerich Massena with a bachelors in psychology; and Julissa Vasquez, diversity talent acquisition manager at Intel Corporation, with a bachelors in accounting.
They will join the rest of the Forty Under 40 class at the celebration event from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 21 at The Nines Hotel in Portland. The UO Oregon Executive MBA is a gold sponsor of the event.
