31 Days of Success

It's a new year. You might have made some resolutions that you are not sure if you can keep, but stay positive! It is only the first month. Here is a list of how to make each of your 31 days of January a little more successful. Repeat each month and see how you have grown by the end of the year. 

1. Plan your day
This will help motivate you and will keep you from wasting time.

2. Eat a Healthy Breakfast

Fueling your body should be the most important thing. If you want to have a successful day you need to think about your health first.

3. Exercise

Pumping up your heart has many positive side effects. You will see a difference even by taking just 30 minutes out of your day to exercise.

4. Get harder stuff done first

Don’t wait until the end of the day to cram in the hardest task. Do it first. Don’t dread it; just complete it.

5. Remove Distractions
Remove Facebook and other distracting sites from your bookmarks. If you don’t see it you won’t click it. As for non Internet related distractions, clean space is a clean mind. Work in a clutter free area.

6. Allow Breaks
Breaks restart your mind. You will be glad you took one, even if it’s for 10 minutes. Let your mind wander for new ideas and approaches. 

7. Allow Rewards

A reward can be a little longer break, a snack, or being able to finish everything so you have time to watch your favorite show or go to the gym. Make your own reward system to stay motivated.

8. Have a good night’s sleep

Your body needs sleep. Make sure to get a minimum of 7 hours to be successful the next day.

9. Set Goals
What do you need to accomplish and what do you want to accomplish today? Make a list to help plan your day.

10. Think Positive
The good waits. If you think positive your day will be positive.

11. Don’t Concentrate on the Negative
The Negatives will only bring you down but there is always a positive to a negative, you just have to find it!

12. Be Nice to Everyone
Being nice to people won’t only make you feel great but you will great a good environment around you.

13. Make Decisions
Trying not to be indecisive can be difficult but can effect if you have a successful day or not. Successful people have opinions and can make decisions. Choose to make your day a successful one.

14. Ask Questions
Show that thirst for knowledge. Asking questions allows you to better yourself by gaining knowledge through others. 

15. Be Responsible
Show responsibility for yourself, your actions, and your presence. 

16. Solve Problems
Instead of dwelling on the problem in front of you solve it. The problem will not go away and procrastination will not help. Don’t avoid uncomfortable circumstances for they make you more successful.

17. Be Present
Do not have a blank expression while in conversations, meetings, or classes. Show others that their time is respected by being present. Relationships can blossom based off of being present in a conversation.

18. Do Less
It is hard not to but do not over book yourself. Everyone needs breathing time. Remember you are only human!

19. Get Fresh Air
Find any excuse to get some fresh air. Eat lunch outside, take a walk, read outside, and stare at the stars. The list goes on for ways you can take activities outdoors.

20. Listen to Music
Stay pumped throughout the day with your favorite music. It is a great way to stay on track but can also help you relax during a difficult day.

21. Take a Nap
Feeling the afternoon blues or unable to get a full 8 hours of sleep? Take a nap in the afternoon. You will feel refreshed to end your day with a clear mind.

22. Turn off Your Phone

Take a break from technology. Find another activity to do when taking a break of resting your mind. Read a book, newspaper, or maybe that’s they best time to take that nap.

23. Dress to Impress Yourself
Make sure you dress comfortably but professionally. They way you dress can say a lot about you and you never know who you may see. 

24. Breathe
Sometimes you just forget to breathe. You have endless amounts of tasks that seem to never end. Do not forget to breathe. Taking deep breaths will relax you and help you feel ready to complete the tasks.

25. Talk to Friends and Family
Stay connected to your friends and family is important. If your life does not always lead you to their directions make sure to reach out and contact them.

26. See the Big Picture
What do you want? See it. Move towards it.

27. Drink Water
Instead of drinking a lot of soda and eating tons of snacks, drink water first. If you are still hungry think about what kinds of food you have not eaten today.

28. Smile

A smile can be passed around. Wear a smile to start successful day for not only you but who ever you may see too.

29. Dream
Dreaming never hurt anyone. Still dream about the impossible for it may be possible one day.

30. End the Day Strong

After completing everything, go back and review what you accomplished during the day. Complete minor tasks until you feel like your day has come to an end.

31. Don’t forget your Resolution

Stick to those commitments you gave yourself. Set a deadline to achieve the goals. Don’t leave it open ended for then they will never be completed.
