How have your experiences and service affected your life?
It’s shaped me very significantly. It developed my leadership methods and how I interact with others. It’s allowed me to travel all over the U.S. (including Oregon!) and some really cool parts of the world. I also met my wife (who works at the UO!) while at my first duty station, and I can’t say how much that’s influenced my life.
Were you involved with UO Army ROTC, the Student Veterans Center, Veterans and Family Student Association, or any other organizations on campus during your time as a UO student? If so, please describe your experience.
I was fortunate to teach ROTC at the UO for three years. I taught sophomore cadets and students and had a great time teaching and learning from all the UO students and faculty. I am now in the Army Reserves still helping out our awesome ROTC program.
What is your current career? How did your experiences as a veteran impact your career?
I am a supply specialist at Alsco. My military experience helped inform my employer that I’d be reliable, dedicated, and willing to work hard.
