Oregon Institute of Marine Biology 100th Anniversary Celebration
August 23–25, 2024
Coos Bay, OR
Registration is now open for the highly anticipated 100th Anniversary Celebration of the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology! We hope you will join us August 23, 24, and 25, 2024 for a celebration filled with exciting activities and opportunities to reconnect with fellow alumni, faculty, and staff.
Beginning as a tent encampment in 1924, OIMB has supported top-quality education and research ever since. It is now the third oldest marine laboratory on the Pacific coast and supports a thriving Marine Biology major. As a valued member of our community, we would be honored to have you join us for this momentous occasion.
You can also celebrate 100 years of the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology by supporting the Charleston Marine Life Center! Located on the water on the edge of the Charleston Marina, the CMLC is an exciting place of discovery for 15,000 visitors per year. Its mission is to serve as a science education resource for the UO, and for area students, teachers, families, and individuals through public hours, preK-12 student programs (in person and online), mentoring for youth exploring careers in science, community programming, and lifelong learning.
