Andrew Nelson is a professor of management and the Randall C. Papé Chair in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Oregon. Nelson received his PhD in management science and engineering from Stanford University, where he subsequently served on the faculty. He also holds a master’s degree from Oxford University and a bachelor's degree from Stanford.
Nelson’s research and teaching focuses on technology entrepreneurship, and the relationship between new technologies and work. He is the author of numerous articles in leading journals as well as the book, The Sound of Innovation, and has been featured in media outlets ranging from NPR to WIRED to The Wall Street Journal. Nelson also serves as senior editor of Organization Science and is co-author of the leading entrepreneurship textbook, Technology Ventures: From Idea to Enterprise, now entering its sixth edition in multiple translations and used in entrepreneurship courses worldwide.
