Joe Erickson, BS '20 (political science)
Director of Advocacy and Policy, University of Oregon
Joe Erickson currently serves as the director of advocacy and policy for the University of Oregon's Government and Community Relations team. In his role, Joe mobilizes alumni, students, and community members in support of UO's state and federal policy agendas through the UO Advocates program.
Prior to joining the University of Oregon, Joe served as the assistant director of government relations at Oregon State University. In that role, he administered advocacy programs that activated students, alumni, faculty, and community members in the 2022 and 2023 state legislative sessions. Earlier in his career, Joe served the state of Oregon as an agency employee and legislative aide. He has also worked on a variety of successful legislative and local campaigns.
Joe is a proud 4th generation alumnus of the UO. He graduated in June of 2020 and was a member of various academic programs, including the Wayne Morse Scholars program.
A part of the University of Oregon's Government and Community Relations team, Joe leads efforts to engage alumni, students, and community members in support of UO's policy initiatives.
