The 5 Biggest Mistakes People Make Mid-Career (And How Not to Make Them)

Ford Alumni Center Ballroom | 1720 E 13th Ave, Eugene OR 97403
In just one hour, this workshop will change the way you look at your career. You’ve worked for about a decade since finishing your degree and have surely had your share of wins, losses, and lessons. You’ve probably encountered some significant challenges such as a difficult boss or coworker and maybe even a lay off but you’re likely still keen to grow, learn, and make more money. This hour will touch on many of the struggles you’ve faced and debated to this point in your career and teach you how to handle them. In this short session, you’ll learn from top-rated career coach (and UO alum), Merryn Roberts-Huntley, what the 5 biggest mistakes are that people make mid-career and learn how not to make them. You’ll take away actionable ways to deal with important topics such as when to change jobs, how to negotiate salary, how to build strong relationships at work, and more. Merryn is the author of the book, "Made To Hire, How to Get the Job You Really Want,” and she’ll be applying her expertise as a career coach to help you navigate this next phase of your career.
