JOE FISCHER, BS ’60, MFA ’63 (fine and applied arts), continued his support of the Joe and Alona Fischer Scholarship Fund with a gift of $25,000. Joe has been supporting the scholarship fund since 2010, making a huge difference in the lives of aspiring artists along the way.
Margaret Lehrman
Class of 1966
Margie (McBride) Lehrman '66 has been honored by Columbia University as a 2018 Alumni Medalist in recognition of her work on behalf of the university for 10 years or more. She has organized all her class reunions, served six years on the Alumni Board (vice chair) of the Graduate School of Journalism, and now represents the Journalism School on the Alumni Trustee Nominating Committee, which helps select Trustees for Columbia University.

Mitchell Power, PhD '06 (geography), and an international team of geographers and scientists, released a publicly searchable database of worldwide fire history information called the Global Modern Charcoal Dataset. He is an associate professor of geography at the University of Utah and curator of the Garrett Herbarium at the Natural History Museum of Utah.
