Kanealii Ngosorio

Kāneali‘i Ng-Osorio earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from the UO in 1998. He is now an enterprise business analyst for Kamehameha Schools, serves on the board of directors for the UO Alumni Association, and is the Hawaii Ducks regional UOAA chapter president. Kāne shares what motivates him to stay so involved supporting current and future Ducks, along with advice for current students and recent graduates.
 


 

A career committed to advocacy

Darrell Rico Doss, JD ’95, recently made the move from Capitol Hill to General Motors. He looks back on the last nearly three decades of advocacy work, including navigating the financial crisis of 2007–08, serving as Congressional Black Caucus policy director, and working in the Japanese government.

Edward Truitt

Class of 1996
Edward R. Truitt is currently an Associate Professor of Dance at West Texas A&M University. He is an internationally award winning choreographer, a Fulbright Specialist and recognized internationally as a teacher and choreographer. His work has been performed in the U.S., France, Japan, Italy, and across Russia in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, and Krasnoyarsk. Mr. Truitt has made seven trips to Russia teaching and presenting his creative work. His 2004 trip to Russia was the subject of a documentary film "Dancing in Russian Air" which aired regionally on PBS.
Since graduating from the University of Oregon Mr. Truitt has served as Artistic Director of the Lone Star Ballet Company and the New Mexico Ballet Company, has served as a
Visiting Professor at the University of Utah Ballet Department, an Assistant Professor of Dance at Southern Utah University, was a FT Lecturer at California State University-Fresno, and was a Visiting Professor of Ballet at Brigham Young University and co-directed Brigham Young University Ballet Theatre.
He is currently a member of Counseil International de la Danse, CORPS de Ballet International, Phi Beta Delta (honor society dedicated to recognizing scholarly achievement in international education), National Association of Schools of Dance and the American College Dance Festival Association.

Serena Rebers, BA '13 (environmental studies), BArch '13, and Alden Carr, MArch '18 (landscape architecture), were hired as designers at Shapiro Didway, an architecture firm in Portland.

Class of 2016
Bradley Burke, BA '16 (cinema studies), debuted his first film, Waldgeist, on Amazon's video streaming service.

Jordan Hasay, BS '13 (business administration), placed third in the women's race in the 2019 Boston Marathon.

Samantha Freson, BArch '18, has joined Stemach Design and Architecture in Bend as a design professional.

Riley Mulvihill, BA '17 (sociology), has been named technology instructor for TranZed Apprenticeship Services, which offers apprenticeship programs throughout the mid-Atlantic area.

Sanne Godfrey, BA '13 (journalism), was named education reporter for the News-Review in Roseburg.

Marlo Sweatman

Class of 2016
The Jamaican National Team selected former Ducks soccer player Marlo Sweatman, BA '16 (general social science), to play in the Women's World Cup this summer in France.

Luis Erazo, MArch '15, joined Pivot Architecture in Eugene as a product designer and multimedia fabricator.

Alycia Pirmohamed

Class of 2014
Alycia Pirmohamed, MFA '14 (creative writing), was one of four winners of the 92nd Street Y's 2019 Discovery Poetry Contest for her poem, The Making of a Ghost.

M. Jackson

Class of 2017
M JACKSON, PhD ’17 (geography), a glaciologist and geographer who has visited approximately 1,000 glaciers, was selected as speaker for VOICES, a lecture series that brings influential and powerful women to Portland in a platform dedicated to inspiring, empowering, and connecting women.

Jon Creighton, MArch '13, has joined Carleton Hart Architecture of Portland as a job captain.

Barouch Ben-Zion

Class of 1968
California's Sonoma State University recognized Barry Ben-Zion, MA '68, PhD '73 (economics), as its Distinguished Alumnus of 2019.

John Minan

Class of 1972
John Minan, JD '72, was a 2019 keynote speaker on global climate change legal issues at the annual international Kuwait International Law School conference in Kuwait. He is an emeritus law professor at the University of San Diego.

William Fisher

Class of 1971
William Fisher, MA '71, PhD '74 (mathematics), was inducted into the Hall of Honor at California State University at Chico.

Red Estes

Class of 1960
Gene Red Estes, BS '60 (education), MS '64 (interdisciplinary studies), and Myrna Robertson Estes, BS '61 (business administration), celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary September 2. The pair have been associated with Fresno State University for 55 years, Gene as a track-and-field and cross-country coach.

Michael Grove, BS '67 (economics), is chairman and president of Bank of the Rockies, the oldest bank in Montana.

Dawn Berry-Furtado

Class of 2001
Dawn Berry-Furtado, BS '01 (general science), was inducted into the Lethbridge (Alberta, Canada) Sports Hall of Fame for her golf achievements.

Class of 1970
James Rulli, BA '70 (political science), retired after two decades as a Clark County Superior Court judge.

Dylan Nelson

Class of 2001
Dylan Nelson, MFA '01 (creative writing), was approved for tenure and promoted to associate professor of film and media studies at Colorado College.
