Oregon Rowing gets ready to launch

Oregon Rowing has been busy connecting with prospective athletes and preparing our recruitment cycle for the 2023-24 rowing season. Additionally, our team has been connecting with applicants for our available assistant coach role.

Our first team practice is on October 2 and will take place at McArthur Court on campus. At this practice, we will be discussing our expectations as a team, our tryout process, and completing a team workout. This gives prospective athletes an opportunity to see what our practices look like and to meet the rest of the team.

During the past couple of months, our team has held informational calls, conducted interviews, and connected with local rowing clubs to try and fill our assistant coach position. At this point in time, our team has multiple candidates for the 2023-24 season. However, the application portal is still open, and we encourage people to reach out to our team if interested.

Overall, Oregon Rowing is very excited for this upcoming season, and we are eager to welcome new athletes to the team. Our assistant coach search has not been an easy one, but we are all committed to using our resources to their full potential and recruiting an applicant who can satisfy the needs of our team.
