Annual Events

Beat Tees –

For the Homecoming football game each year, the SAA provides its members with a Homecoming Beat Tee. Thursdays before the Homecoming game from 11am-4pm at the Flagship Duck Store, the SAA Leadership Team hands out the shirts.

Fall Food Drive –

Every Homecoming, we encourage Ducks to come together to help end food insecurity on campus by supporting the Student Food Pantry. During the week, there are collection bins for non-perishable food items at various locations across campus.

Networking Dinner –

Winter term, usually in February, we host a Networking Skills Dinner. Students learn and practice their networking skills over dinner. Throughout the event, students will have the opportunity to speak with UO Alumni about best practices when networking, how to dress "business casual" for different events, how to engage with potential employers, and gain confidence when interacting in professional settings. Complete with a keynote speaker who is an expert on networking, this event is one members do not want to miss!

Finals Week Study Hours –

Join the SAA at the Fold Alumni Center during the start of Finals Week every term for some late night study hours. Stop by and grab some snacks while studying for your upcoming finals. Held the Sunday and Monday of finals week, each study hours session lasts from 7 pm to midnight allowing students to get some late night studying in.

Duck Duck Hoops –

At Duck Duck Hoops members have the opportunity to enter Matthew Knight Arena 2 hours before a basketball game to take part in fun games, music, food, and special giveaways on the court. Every member may bring up to three non-members to the event to join in the fun.

Alumni Networking –

These hour long events can look like Lunches-with-Bunches or Meet-and-Greets that allow members to network with UO Alumni who will share their successes, challenges, and tips for the workforce. Held in various locations, these events will help to give insight and tools on how to get internships, prepare for full time jobs and, of course, network. Industries covered can include anything from marketing, finance, health care, law and more.

Spring Clothing Drive –

Toward the end of Spring term as students are preparing to go home for summer break, we encourage Ducks to come together to donate their gently used clothes. Clothes are donated to the Reusable Office Supply Exchange (ROSE) Room on campus and go back to support students.

Ducks Give –

On the third Thursday in May, the SAA works with University Advancement to plan the student event for Ducks Give. Our goal is to inform students of the philanthropic impact fundraising events like Ducks Give has at the University of Oregon. We never ask students to donate money. Instead, we provide learning opportunities, activities, and food for students who write thank you letters to our donors.

New Grad Gift Pickup –

It's time to celebrate the graduating ducks with a Senior Send-Off. Located in the Ford Alumni Center Ballroom, the event features a commemorative pint glass and giveaways from UOAA partners. The event is held in June from 11am to 2pm. Seniors have the opportunity to hear from alumni about post-grad life as well as decorate their caps before graduation.

25 Ducks –

This event honors 25 outstanding junior and senior Ducks at the U of O who embody one or more of the following categories: Academic Achievement, Campus Involvement, Community Impact, Leadership or Service. Those nominating a student must fill out a short form. For those who have been nominated they will receive an email about their nomination and be asked to complete a form about themselves that outlines their achievements.
