Who We Are

Mission

The goal of the Student Alumni Association is to facilitate interactions between students and alumni, and to enhance the student experience by providing opportunities that strengthen their lifelong loyalty to UO.

Who We Are

Engaging Ducks in all stages of flight—that’s our motto and our main mission. The Student Alumni Association, or SAA as we like to call it, is here to enhance your experience as a University of Oregon student so you can feel enthusiastic in being a part of a proud Duck community!

Between our connections with alumni and our student member base, we provide unique opportunities for you to network with either. Just by being a member you have more than just member-only benefits all year long—you also have the opportunity to strengthen and widen your connections, both on-campus and with those already out in the working field!

Alumni Relations

The Alumni Relations team is responsible for connecting students with alumni through various opportunities throughout the year. The team works together to plan career readiness workshops in partnership with the UO Career Center, host various networking events, and seek out unique opportunities for students to increase their professional networks. Alumni Relations team members should have an interest in public relations, networking, working with alumni, and public speaking.

Leadership Development

The Leadership Development team focuses on the internal relations of the SAA Leadership Team internship program. They plan professional development activities for training, meetings, and leadership retreats and team bonding activities to improve the overall intern experience. This team also leads hiring for SAA Leadership Team interns. Students interested in Human Resources, talent management, and leadership will learn useful career skills on this team.

Marketing and Production

The Marketing and Production team handles external communication for the SAA. This team runs the SAA's social media accounts, works with UO Branding to design the Beat Tees, stays on top of PR initiatives, and is the driving force of the SAA's event marketing, website design, photography and video production. Students who are interested in creative strategy, marketing, production, and design will learn useful career skills on this team.

Membership Engagement

The Membership Engagement team plans events from Study Hours to 25 Ducks, from Duck Duck Hoops to the SAA Carnival. This cornerstone comes up with creative ideas to engage and celebrate our SAA members. The Membership Engagement team also works to get continuous feedback from SAA members by talking to them at events. Members of this team should have an interest in event planning, sales, engagement, and marketing.
