About the Designer

Tinker Hatfield, BArch ’77, is a design icon, responsible for Nike's Air Jordan line, Air Max, and Air Huarache, among others. Twice named one of the most influential people in sports business by Sportstyle, Hatfield is also the 2008 recipient of the School of Architecture and Allied Arts’ Lawrence Medal.

While some of his pieces are displayed in the Smithsonian, Duck fans need only head to Eugene—or look at their own clothing—to see his work. The designer of the University of Oregon's iconic "O", Tinker is also the creator of the Matthew Knight Arena court.
