All UO Alumni Association scholarships are administered through the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships, using UO scholarship applications. See the information below on how to apply for UO Alumni Association scholarships.
UOAA Chapter and Group Scholarships
UO Alumni Association chapter and group scholarships are administered through the General University Scholarship program. Awards vary between $1,000-$3,000, as set by the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships and are awarded for one year only. Students who have received a UO Alumni Association scholarship in the past are eligible to receive one again, with no limit to the number of years they may receive the scholarship.
General University Scholarships are awarded on the basis of scholastic achievement. Selection criteria are based upon academic performance through review of transcripts from past institutions, UO academic records (if applicable), and SAT/ACT scores (for incoming freshmen), extracurricular involvement, faculty reference (if applicable), and writing ability.
Deadlines and processes differ by student status and grade level. Please refer to the OSFAS General University Scholarship page for deadlines. In general:
- Incoming Freshmen: Incoming freshmen are automatically considered for General University Scholarships by completing the undergraduate admission application. No separate General University Scholarship application is required for incoming freshmen to be considered for UO Alumni Association scholarships for which they are eligible.
- Incoming Transfer Students: Incoming transfer students must apply for admission and submit the General University Scholarship Application and any supplemental materials by the deadlines set by OSFAS to be considered for UO Alumni Association scholarships for which they are eligible.
- Current UO Undergraduate Students: Current UO undergraduate students who wish to apply for a General University Scholarship for the following academic year must submit the General University Scholarship Application and any supplemental materials by the deadline set by OSFAS to be considered to UO Alumni Association scholarships for which they are eligible. Preference is given to students who have previously received a UO Alumni Association scholarship.
Chapters and groups currently awarding UO Alumni Association academic scholarships include: Desert Ducks (Arizona), Chicago Ducks, Denver Ducks, Hawai’i Ducks, Lane County Ducks, Bay Area Ducks, Orange County Ducks, Portland Ducks, Seattle Ducks, San Diego Ducks, and LA Ducks.
