Terms on the UOBAN Board are two years beginning July 1 and can be renewed for up to a third, two-year term. The board’s governance committee reviews applications in winter and spring. The full board votes on recommended candidates at the spring meeting.

The board's governance committee is looking for candidates who can assist with carrying out the mission and vision of the UOBAN tied to the three foundational pillars of MENTORSHIP - RELATIONSHIP - SCHOLARSHIP. Candidates with experience in various sectors of business, Mentorship, Development/Fundraising, Student & Alumni Engagement—either formally or informally—or those with similar experience are encouraged to apply.
The Black Alumni Network Board will consist of 25 - 30 people.
Qualified candidates considered for service to the Chapter Board must:
• be a University of Oregon graduate
• be at least 18 years of age,
• be an active member in good standing with the UOAA. The board meets quarterly: Twice in person each year— In the Fall in Eugene and in the Spring in a location determined by consensus of the Board as well as twice virtually. Meetings are generally all day on a Friday and a half day on Saturday. Board members serve on committees which meet virtually as needed. Board members commit to participating in all board meetings and serving as ambassadors within the UO alumni community.
Student Board Members
Two student board member positions are open for a one year term for an undergraduate and a graduate student. Students should submit a Student Board Member application for consideration.
