Jeffrey Opp joined the UOAA in January 2023 as a graphic designer. He previously worked for seven years as a designer for a small e-commerce company, focusing on customer-centered strategies.
Jeffrey grew up in a small North Dakota town. Promptly after graduating high school, he entered the Navy and was stationed in Sicily, Italy. Returning to the states, he earned a BFA in photography from Minnesota State University Moorhead in 2009 and an MFA in photography from San Jose State University in 2013.
When he’s not working, Jeffrey can be found out on his bicycle or exploring the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. He recently earned his black belt (Shodan) in jujitsu and frequently helps teach women’s self-defense classes. He enjoys spending time with his brilliant, talented wife and his adamant, adorable cat.
What Jeffrey finds most inspiring about his role at the UOAA is being part of a talented team that is working together to achieve an important mission. His advice is to not compare your life to others, as that’s surest recipe for unhappiness.
Jeffrey is a visual communicator, employing his experience in graphic design, photography, and web user experience to promote UOAA initiatives, programs, and events.
