Vivian joined the UOAA in July 2023 after a long history of working in higher education as a writing and multicultural education instructor. As an alumna of the UO with both a BA and MA under her belt, she now acts as our Assistant Director of Student Engagement, working with students who are passionate about creating and fostering lifelong communities here at the UO and beyond. 

Part of Vivian’s dedication to students was fostered during her time here at the UO where she was a graduate in the English Department. It was also here that she developed her love of deep reading and critical thinking, which she applies to nearly everything in her life today.

When she’s not in the office, you can find Vivian near her favorite tree by the quad in front of the Knight library or hiking, camping, ballroom dancing, and of course, reading.
