The draft boathouse design was shared at the 2025 Spring Fundraising Dinner.
If you’ve attended a Spring Fundraising Dinner the past few years, you know that Friends of Oregon Rowing and the team share a dream for a new boathouse at Dexter Lake. A new boathouse would increase storage capacity for equipment and provide a more welcoming space for the team to function during regattas and practices.
We are excited to share that, after numerous discussions with stakeholders involved with the Dexter property, a schematic design of the boathouse is underway, with contracts now in place for the initial design effort.

The August 2025 site survey of the existing boathouse captured the needed details for new construction. The vision for the new boathouse is now being modified as needed, taking into consideration any site constraints. As we move through this process, we will keep you updated along the way.
It's hard to overstate the tremendous effort that has gone into this project to date, given the sheer number of stakeholders involved and the complexity of the location. The site has multiple owner agencies, and building in this location requires consideration for the riparian zone, and permissions from Lane County Planning & Zoning. It’s exciting that things are moving forward!
