How much energy do you have left to invest in the future? We have recently marked a year into this pandemic and cultivating resilience is more important than ever before. Whether you are in a cycle of burnout or struggling to find the motivation to reengage, many of us are looking forward to a time when things will hopefully feel easier. That is where this workshop comes in.
If your first thought reading about this event was “not another zoom meeting”, then you’re in luck. In this interactive session led by Mariko Lin, PhD, a senior staff psychologist and the assistant director of education and prevention outreach at the UO Counseling Center, you will audit your current energy levels and discover where you could use a boost to operate at your best in your career, at school, and among family.
Learn action items to apply when challenges arise and identify personal areas of strength to continue navigating this new normal. UO staff were able to take this audit with Lin and found the results enlightening - we are thrilled to extend this opportunity to alumni!
Meet Our Featured Speaker
Mariko Lin, PhD, is an assistant director and the education and prevention outreach director at the University of Oregon Counseling Services. Along with providing therapy services to college students for the past decade at UO, Lin oversees the educational programs, prevention efforts, and outreach initiatives that happen beyond the walls of the center. Valuing inclusivity and social justice, Lin is passionate about empowering students, reducing stigmas related to mental health, and increasing access of services to our marginalized students. With the help of their student advisory board, our staff, and invaluable collaboration with campus partners, Lin also aspires to create a community of care for students with the ultimate goal of creating a positive and meaningful college experience for all Ducks.
Born and raised in the Midwest, Lin received her bachelor's at Northwestern University while majoring in cognitive science and psychology. After serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Nepal, she returned back to the Midwest to earn both her master’s and PhD in counseling psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In this pandemic world, Lin continues to enjoy having good food with good company (these days…our family), taking walks all over south Eugene, and buying more plants than there are spaces for at home.
