The latest and greatest in UO Rowing
The team had an exciting and encouraging fall season and is looking forward to building on that momentum during winter training.
A new novice class was welcomed into the fold in October and November. They have shown immense progress and tenacity in their rowing thus far and we are excited to continue supporting their growth in the coming seasons.
The team’s varsity members competed in three regattas this fall: Head of the Duck at Dexter Lake; Portland Fall Classic in Vancouver, WA; and Head of the Lake in Seattle, WA. The men’s V8+ took home first place at Portland Fall Classic while the women’s V4+ finished strong in third place. Both boats showed encouraging results at Head of the Lake, improving on times from earlier in the season.
The team also welcomed Josh Baker to our coaching staff as an assistant coach this fall. Coach Baker recently moved to Eugene and is the head coach of Eugene Rowing Association, the juniors club that rows out of Dexter Lake, in addition to his position with Oregon Rowing. He has brought insight into the team’s technique and strategies, helping us see significant improvement over these past few months.
The team is looking forward to winter conditioning to help them build a powerful base for a competitive and exciting spring racing season.
Alumni participate in team welcome back

They also appreciated our continuous support and passion for rowing. We look forward to seeing them at the Covered Bridge Regatta and at the Ford Alumni Center for the spring dinner that night, April 6!
