The importance of giving back

Ducks Give

Every year, UOAA chapters take pride in holding a variety of events to benefit their regionally specific academic scholarships that are awarded to dedicated, qualifying students. Two of our chapters, in New York and DC, have intern scholarships that students can apply for.

This academic year, 14 regional chapters of the UO Alumni Association awarded more than $71,000 in academic scholarships to 39 students from their area. With safety concerns over COVID-19 forcing fundraising activities to be canceled, we need your help to continue our mission of helping students get a leg up in their college careers more than ever.

On May 13, alumni and other associated benefactors have the chance to make a difference in the lives of the next generation of Ducks. By donating, you’re directly contributing to the lives of future lawyers, scientists, artists, and others who will use their talent and the valuable skills they acquired at UO to change the world. An investment in them is an investment in the future you want to see.

But don’t just take our word for it. Katebel Jose, a recipient of the Hawaii Ducks’ scholarship each year since 2019, said, “This scholarship has eased the stress and tension of having to worry about finances, and has allowed me to focus on my studies and just the college experience.”

Prove that Ducks have each other’s backs and give back to the university that gave to you. The countdown starts now.
