Kanealii Ngosorio

Kāneali‘i Ng-Osorio earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from the UO in 1998. He is now an enterprise business analyst for Kamehameha Schools, serves on the board of directors for the UO Alumni Association, and is the Hawaii Ducks regional UOAA chapter president. Kāne shares what motivates him to stay so involved supporting current and future Ducks, along with advice for current students and recent graduates.
 


 

A career committed to advocacy

Darrell Rico Doss, JD ’95, recently made the move from Capitol Hill to General Motors. He looks back on the last nearly three decades of advocacy work, including navigating the financial crisis of 2007–08, serving as Congressional Black Caucus policy director, and working in the Japanese government.

Hon. Blaine Gibson (Law ’77) has been elected president of the Washington State Superior Court Judges’ Association. He is in his fourth term as a Superior Court Judge for Yakima County. He and his wife, Sandi, recently celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary.

Dave Donley BS ’76 (IFC / Debate Team / Delta Tau Delta) was elected to the Anchorage School Board in 2017. Dave and his wife Jamie have twins in Fifth Grade. Dave previously served 16 years in the Alaska Legislature. Now he represents Alaskans with disabilities as a lobbyist and also serves as Lt. Col. / Staff Judge Advocate for the Alaska State Defense Force.

The 5,000-word story Christine Heinrichs wrote on captive-raised condors being released to the wild after the species nearly became extinct, only to face lethal lead poisoning from hunters' ammunition, won second place in the Reported Narrative category at the Mayborn Literary Nonfiction Conference. It will be published next year in Ten Spurs. Earth Island Journal published another of her stories on the subject.
