Kanealii Ngosorio

Kāneali‘i Ng-Osorio earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from the UO in 1998. He is now an enterprise business analyst for Kamehameha Schools, serves on the board of directors for the UO Alumni Association, and is the Hawaii Ducks regional UOAA chapter president. Kāne shares what motivates him to stay so involved supporting current and future Ducks, along with advice for current students and recent graduates.
 


 

A career committed to advocacy

Darrell Rico Doss, JD ’95, recently made the move from Capitol Hill to General Motors. He looks back on the last nearly three decades of advocacy work, including navigating the financial crisis of 2007–08, serving as Congressional Black Caucus policy director, and working in the Japanese government.

Jenn Clemo, BA ’09 (English), has been named executive director for the Center for Nonprofit Stewardship in Corvallis.

Governor Kate Brown has appointed Kim Stafford, BA '’71 (English), MA ’73 (English), PhD '’79, as Oregon’s new poet laureate. In his two-year appointment, Stafford will foster the art of poetry, encourage literacy and learning, address issues of humanities and heritage, and reflect on Oregon public life.

Roberta (Bobbie) Conner, BS ’77 (journalism), has been elected to a four-year term on the board of directors for the Oregon Community Foundation.

Romy Mortensen, BA ’89 (public relations), has been elected to a four-year term on the board of directors for the Oregon Community Foundation.

Curtis Wilson

Class of 1991
Curtis Wilson Jr., BA ’91 (health education), was named 2018 Oregon Principal of the Year after unanimous nomination by all Portland public high school principals. Wilson, principal of Benson Polytechnic High School, heads to Washington, DC, as an Oregon candidate for national Principal of the Year.

Carly Dolan, BA ’95 (English), was appointed by Governor Jerry Brown to the California Superior Court Bench for Mendocino County.

Jane Teater, BS ’80 (elementary education), received the Distinguished Service Award at the Oregon State University Cascades commencement ceremony June 17.

Joanne Wolfe, BA ’87 (journalism; English), has launched a publishing imprint, Eaglefeather Press, based in Nova Scotia, Canada, with US offices in Longmont, Colorado. She also has authored a book, In the Hollow of God’s Hand: The Life and Times of Edward Z. Yoder.

Kelley, MS '77 (speech: rhetoric and communication), PhD '82 (speech: rhetoric and communication), published A Rhetoric of Divisive Partisanship: The 2016 American Presidential Campaign Discourse of Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump, which explores how the politicians' rhetoric created an angry orphan persona in their marginalized bases.
